Anal Fissure Information and Overview
An anal fissure is a tear or cut in the anus lining. It causes extreme pain when you have a bowel movement, and in some severe cases passing gas can be painful. This pain feels like a knife cutting through your ass. The fissure will often bleed bright red. This blood may be visible in the stool or on the toilet paper after wiping.
